I am 50 years old, my name is Alexandra, I was born in nearby Umbria in Città di Castello. I spent my childhood in a hamlet called San Giustino. When I got married I came to live in this corner of Tuscany, a few kilometres from my Umbria in this house with the surrounding land full by so many roses.
The house is owned by my husband’s family and they bought it in the 1960s with 5 acres of land. My husband's family stopped sharecropping and began to work on their own. The enlargened family all moved here, parents, grandparents, uncles and aunts. "after a few years they decided to build a new house in the adjacent field and the House sat vacant for a long time. My husband and I were having parties with friends when we were engaged, in the 90s the problem of the broken roof arose it was raining inside and the windows had to be repaired ... and at this point we came up with the idea of turning it into a cottage.
I was working in an office when I decided to start this work with my father-in-law Paul.Planned all the outside work whereas . I was in charge of the house Now Paul is no longer with us my son Alexander helps me with the outdoor work and we try to run this agricultural activity.
History of the old house was a whole new discovery. As we restaured it, we discovered a clay coat of arms placed within the walls, bluish decorations made with the famous Ford typical of the fifteenth century. In the area adjacent to the cellar floor,we found huge stones and brick vaulted ceilings. Under the washing tub there was a stone carved with a face and the big stone that was below the impressive fireplace was decorated with the coat of arms in the middle, Unfortunately it was broken. Then we discovered the large stone walls that keep the House thermalally insulated.
